Success in this role requires:
- Lead the entire sales cycle
- Achieve monthly mortgage funding volume objectives
- Qualify the clients mortgage needs
- Being a driven, self-starter, problem-solver, organized and a good communicator.
- Being proficient with technology and the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a PC-based environment using multiple software platforms
- Close mortgage loans with borrowers
- Speak to borrowers and explain the differences between mortgage/HELOC loan options.
- Research mortgage rates and determine the best rate for borrowers.
- Identify their needs and financial goals of clients.
- Explain the loan process to prospective borrowers.
- Work directly with clients to obtain a new mortgage, refinance an existing loan, or obtain a second mortgage, HELOC etc.
Must Have Qualifications:
- Licence/Certification: FSRA Mortgage Agent License - Agent Level 2.
- Ideally 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably within Banking sector as: financial advisor, or bank mobile mortgage specialist.
- Previous experience in mortgage underwriting with a private lender, Bank, or Alt-A/B lender preferred.
- Solid understanding of mortgage lending practices, regulations, and underwriting principles.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders, lenders, agents, principal broker.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. as well as updating CRM Portals.
- Proficiency using relevant software tools, Finmo, Filogix, CRM, Outlook, OneDrive, Excel etc.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing documents.
- Perfect written English
- Valid work permit for Canada
A snapshot of a typical week:
- Provide advice and solutions to clients to meet their individual needs, and financial goals.
- Complete and assess mortgage applications, perform credit checks, searches, and other related underwriting requirements
- Ensure mortgage applications meet compliance requirements and adhere to lender policies and guidelines
- Perform due diligence on all underwriting-related documentation
- Review prepared Signature and Compliance packages
- Correspond with clients' lawyers and appraisers to ensure efficient workflow to coincide with closing dates
- Stay up to date with the processing requirements and ensure loan submission follows the required steps and processes
- Collaborate and build relationships with lenders, brokers, and agents within brokerage.
